my friend told that chest workout should be done in rotation ,is it true?

what is the benefit of doing this?

    By doing it in rotation, you wont over exercise just a set muscle, which can hurt after increased periods.
    The benefit would be a all around workout, better look,.
    But, the better look is a benefit only if you want it to be.
